ABOUT GPACC
The Greater Port Arthur Coin Club was established in 1960 by a small group of area Coin Collectors led by Lloyd Buss, a native of Port Arthur who also served as District Governor of the Texas Numismatic Association (TNA). The club has a present membership of approximately 35 members. The Greater Port Arthur Coin Club is also a member of the American Numismatic Association (ANA), C-36674 and a life member of the TNA, CLM007. One of our members, Jerry Williams, is the current President of the TNA. Jerry and his wife Barbara are also Regional Coordinators for ANA Region 9, which includes Texas and Louisiana. The Greater Port Arthur Coin Club meets the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Jefferson County Clinic Building, 7965 Viterbo Rd. adjacent to the Southeast Texas Regional Airport. ALL VISITORS ARE WELCOME!

WHO WAS IT?

Each month this author will provide clues to a famous person, place or item in the numismatic world, and it will be your challenge to determine who or what is being described, and its significance to numismatics.  Good luck!

She was known in Philadelphia for having served thirty-five years as the local secretary of the Philadelphia branch of the Methodist Women’s Foreign Missionary Society.  She married a gentleman whose surname was Keen.  At the age of 12, she never dreamed how famous her profile would become on one of our American coins.
